THE CAGAYAN DE ORO NIGHT CAFE
Bright lights, luscious but affordable food, cool music, fun-loving people... All these can be seen at the Cagayan de Oro Night Café. One doesn’t have to look for the place because it is conveniently located at the heart of the city – Divisoria.
Every Friday and Saturday nights, people meet to eat, drink a little and listen to great music. The fun starts at 6:00 p.m. and goes on till 2:00 a.m. Unlike other party sights where people get drunk and fights start, the Night Café is more about food (ala carte style). The place is classy but affordable. It is a place not just for the rich but also for the masses, a place where the whole family can go and enjoy. Kids love to see the tall, bright posts and the trees surrounded by colorful lights. After a week of school and work, teenagers and adults alike meet to relax and simply enjoy the cool ambiance. At around 9:00 p.m. a featured band starts to play while the people watch and eat. There are also visible security officers around the vicinity so one can be assured that the place is safe. According to P03 Cedric B. Lugod of the Warrant Section of the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office, there has been no reported criminal case inside the Night Café ever since it opened in August 2003. There were minor cases such as feuds among drunken men but those occured outside the Night Cafe. One doesn’t have to worry about security because there are more than 50 officers assigned to secure the place Friday and Saturday. The place attracts about 15000 to 20000 people.
The Night Café is today’s top crowd drawer in the city. It is a place where you can party all night long or spend time with family and friends. It shows the festivity of the Kagay-anons who are not just friendly people but also party people.
